Just a simple Melody

Just a simple melody,

That's all that I can sing to you.

Just a poor man's symphony,

A song of love I bring to you.

I searched for the right words

And I tried to make them true.

Oh, and just a simple melody -

That's all I have for you,

Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo.

Just some simple words that rhyme,

They're all that I can give to you,

Mind is working overtime,

But this is what I live to do.

I know I'm a dreamer,

Ah, but is that such a crime?

Oh, and, just a simple melody,

It's with me all the time.

And I'm chasing rainbows,

If you read between the lines,

But I know where the rain goes

And I know this heart of mine.

I searched for the right words

And I tried to make them true.

Oh, and just a simple melody -

That's all I have for you.

Just a simple melody!

On the Road again

Took a walk to the general store,

Spent five dollars and maybe more,

Oh, Lord, I'm on the road again!

Saw some friends and I stopped right by,

Couldn't wait, but I had to try,

Oh, Lord, I'm on the road again.

Little children play games in the street,

Taxis ' waiting on people they meet,

Tiny dancers dance to the beat,

To the beat of the drum.

Climbed a mountain, my feet were sore,

Still, I could see to a distant shore,

Oh, Lord, I'm on the road again.

(Whistling) ... Duh, duh, nduh, duh, duh, nduh, duh, duh, nduh duh, duh!

Little children play games in the street,

Taxis ' waiting on people they meet,

Tiny dancers dance to the beat,

To the beat of the drum.

Sailed away to a faraway shore,

I don't know why, but I do know what for,

Oh, Lord, I'm on the road again!

Oh, Lord, I'm on the road again.
